About
For more than two decades, Sue has worked across journalism, communications, training and coaching — helping organisations and professionals turn complex information into clear, usable communication.
Sue started freelancing as a journalist at 17 and went on to build parallel careers in journalism and communications.
Over the years, she has written extensively for major Australian publications, including The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and the ABC, while also working with organisations where complex information, stakeholder communication and high-quality written outputs matter.

The most useful things journalism taught Sue weren’t really about writing at all.

They were about how to:
-
ask better questions
-
find the point quickly
-
structure messy information
-
spot what’s missing
-
reduce unnecessary complexity
-
turn conversations into usable outputs under pressure
That shaped the way she works now.

In many organisations, work becomes harder than it needs to be.
Meetings generate pages of notes, but the hard part still comes afterwards – working out what matters, what the real story is, and how to turn it into something clear and structured.

Managers end up rewriting work because it feels faster than explaining the same thing again.
Smart, capable people often find themselves doing the same thinking twice: once in the meeting, then again afterwards while trying to shape it into a clear piece of writing.
Often, the issue isn’t capability. These are smart, experienced people doing complex work. It’s that people are trying to untangle and clarify their thinking too late in the process.
That’s the kind of work Sue does best — helping people ask better questions, structure information earlier and produce clearer outputs with less rewriting and rework.
Sue’s approach is practical, tailored and grounded in real work.

Clients work directly with Sue from start to finish. She asks targeted questions, understands organisations quickly and usually needs minimal back-and-forth to get moving.

Sue works with organisations and professionals across Australia on strategic writing projects, workshops, coaching and ongoing communication support.
